Instead Kidd attacked Smith, setting up a match between the two, which was won by Smith. Although, Kidd would pick up a victory over Smith the following week, officially ending the alliance between The Hart Dynasty.

This led to a feud with the so-called ‘co-holders’ of the championship, Lay-Cool. At Hell In A Cell, Natalya defeated Michelle McCool via disqualification in a match for the Divas Championship, this meant that McCool retained the championship. In early 2012, Natalya began a ridiculous gimmick, wherein her character became notable for flatulence.

The Divas of Doom officially split up after the Elimination Chamber, when Phoenix defended her title against Tamina Snuka. On the 22nd March episode of Superstars, Phoenix teamed with Eve Torres in a defeat to Natalya and Tamina, this match officially ended the Divas of Doom’s alliance.

Natalya would often provide the distraction for Kidd, allowing him to pick up victories. As part of the storyline, and to tie-in with the Total Divas footage of Natalya and Kidd having marriage difficulties, Kidd began an angle which saw him being disrespectful towards Natalya.

In February, Kidd and Natalya began a brief feud with Jimmy Uso and Naomi, which led to an inter-gender tag team match on the February 16th episode of RAW, which was won by Jimmy Uso and Naomi.
