She wrestled mainly alongside her sister Brie, as a part of The Bella Twins.

Personal Life

Nicole Garcia-Colace was born sixteen minutes apart from her twin sister, Brianna Garcia-Colace. Her parents are Kathy Colace and Jon Garcia. Along with her sister, Nicole was raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. After moving to San Diego for college and then on to Los Angeles, she began modelling and acting.

Her first national television appearance came on the Fox reality show Meet My Folks. She was also hired by Budweiser, along with her sister, to be the World Cup Twins. Along with Brianna, Nicole then participated in the International Body Doubles twins search. Following this she made her first venture into the world of professional wrestling by entering the 2006 WWE Diva Search, along with Brianna, although they didn’t make the cut.

Nicole has been dating fellow wrestler John Cena since 2012.

It was revealed on a 2014 episode of Total Divas that Nicole had previously been married to her childhood sweetheart at the age of 20, but the marriage was annulled three years later.

She is also a qualified real-estate agent.

In 2007, Nicole and Brianna were signed to developmental contracts with WWE and were assigned to FCW.

On September 15th, they made their debut with FCW under the ring name, The Bella Twins. They defeated Nattie Niedhart and Krissy Vaine, which led to a feud with Neidhart and Victoria Crawford, who had been the guest referee for their debut match. During this feud they first used what would become their trademark ‘Twin Magic’ routine, wherein they would switch places behind the referee’s back to gain an advantage.

In December, 2007, The Bella Twins began to manage Derrick Linkin and accompany him to the ring during his matches; this union was cut short however, when Linkin was released from his contract. This left the Bella’s at a loose end, so they resumed their hostilities with Nattie Neidhart and Victoria Crawford. Again though, this feud was disrupted when Neidhart was called up to the main roster in April. To continue the feud, Neidhart was replaced by Milena Roucka.

During their time at FCW, The Bella Twins also competed in bikini contests and had some success in matches with the likes of Daisy and Katie Lea Burchill.

Her final appearance in FCW came in the form of a Divas Battle Royal on September 2nd, which was won by Miss Angela.

Main Roster; Nikki Bella

On the 29th August, 2008, Brianna made her debut on the WWE main roster, appearing on Smackdown under the name Brie Bella. She defeated Victoria and quickly resumed her feud with Victoria and Nattie Neidhart, now using the ring name Natalya.

In each of her matches against Victoria and Natalya, Brie would roll out of the ring and then go underneath it, only to reappear moments later, seemingly with a new burst of energy that allowed her to win the match. In a match against Victoria on the 31st October, as Brie crawled under the ring Victoria grabbed her leg and was kicked off by another set of legs. The following week on Smackdown, Brie defeated Victoria and then fled under the ring to escape Natalya. Both Natalya and Victoria reached under the ring for Brie, and each thought they had her and dragged her out, only to drag out both Bella’s. The Bella’s then attacked Victoria and Natalya and celebrated. Nicole was then introduced, using the name Nikki Bella.

On November 21st, The Bella Twins began an on-screen relationship with The Colóns and started to accompany them to the ring. In February, John Morrison and The Miz began to flirt with the Bella’s and took them out on a date for Valentine’s Day. This led to a feud between the two tag teams for the Bella’s affections.

On March 17th at an ECW show, Carlito and Primo accidentally spat an apple in Brie’s face, which caused Nikki to laugh at her sister’s misfortune. This led to a fight between the sisters, resulting in Nikki leaving with The Miz and Morrison, whilst Brie stayed loyal to Primo and Carlito. This led to a mini feud between the sisters, with Brie defeating Nikki in a six-person tag match and then Nikki defeating Brie in their first singles match against each other the following week.

Brand Switches

On the 15th April, 2009, as a part of the 2009 Supplemental Draft, The Bella Twins were drafted over to the RAW brand.

Brie made her RAW debut as a part of an 8-Diva tag match, which her team won. Nikki also appeared in the match, reuniting with her sister. Nikki would make her official RAW debut a month later in a Diva Battle Royal, from which she was eliminated by Beth Phoenix.

In June, The Bella’s were traded over to the ECW brand. They made their first ECW appearance on The Abraham Washington Show.

It wasn’t long before The Bella Twins resumed hostilities with Katie Lea Burchill, when Nikki defeated Burchill by way of Twin Magic. The week after, Brie defeated Burchill the same way. The feud was brought quietly to an end on Superstars in September, when Nikki once again defeated Burchill.

The following month The Bella’s were transferred back over to RAW, although for the most part they were used in a backstage role as opposed to competitive matches.

On the 4th January, 2010, Brie participated in a tournament to decide the new WWE Divas Champion, but she was defeated by Maryse in the opening round after a failed attempt at twin magic which resulted in Nikki being pinned.

After this, the Bella’s began a feud with Jillian Hall, with the twins once again utilizing twin magic to allow each one a victory. The feud was continued when the Bella’s were the special referee’s during one of Hall’s matches with Gail Kim. Hall attacked the Bella’s but ultimately lost the match following a fast count from Nikki Bella. The following week the feud was brought to a close when the Bella Twins defeated Jillian Hall and Maryse in a tag match.

On the 31st August it was announced that The Bella Twins would be a part of NXT season three, where they would be mentoring Jamie. Jamie was the first rookie eliminated from the competition.

In November, The Bella Twins became part of a storyline with Daniel Bryan, when Brie accompanied him to the ring for a match. After Bryan had won the match, Nikki raced down to the ring and the Bella’s argued over Bryan’s affections. Bryan broke up the fight and made them hug each other. The upcoming months saw The Bella’s manage Bryan regularly, until January, 2011, when they caught Bryan kissing Gail Kim backstage. The Bella’s then proceeded to attack Kim. They continued the attacks through the Royal Rumble. The feud was brought to an end when The Bella’s teamed with Melina in a losing effort to Gail Kim, Eve Torres and Tamina.

Divas Champion

After the culmination of their feud with Gail Kim, the Bella Twins transitioned into a feud with Divas Champion, Eve Torres. The feud saw The Bella’s constantly attack Torres, only to be stopped by Natalya and Gail Kim.

Nikki Bella then won a Divas Battle Royal to become the number one contender for Torres’ Divas Championship. She would receive her title match on March 7th, but she failed to defeat Torres.

On April 11th, however, Brie did manage to successfully defeat Torres and become the Divas Champion, marking the first time either twin had held a WWE championship.

Brie then successfully retained her championship at Over The Limit with a victory over Kelly Kelly, in which she once again utilized twin magic. Brie would then go on to lose the championship to Kelly Kelly, who was voted by the public to face Bella for the belt. Brie did get a rematch for the title at Money in the Bank but failed to regain the championship.

After losing the title, the Bella Twins began once again competing more as a team that as singles performers. They began feuding again with Eve Torres and Kelly Kelly.

After both sisters lost singles matches against AJ Lee, they began to show disharmony. Nikki then revealed that Brie was supporting Team Johnny in the upcoming match at Wrestlemania XXVIII, whilst Nikki was firmly behind Team Teddy.

On the April 6th episode of Smackdown, Nikki Bella defeated Divas champion Beth Phoenix in a non-title match. On April 23rd, Nikki would receive a title match against Phoenix in the form of a lumberjill match. Nikki defeated Phoenix to win the Divas Championship for the first time.

Her title reign would only last a week however, as a failed twin magic routine at Extreme Rules allowed Layla to pin Brie and win Nikki’s championship.

The following night on RAW, the Bella’s faced Layla for the Divas Championship in a triple threat match. Despite the odds advantage they came up short. Later that night, it was announced on WWE.com that The Bella Twins had been fired by Executive Administrator, Eve Torres.

Independent Circuit

After leaving WWE, The Bella Twins made their first independent wrestling appearance for Northeast Wrestling. They would later appear for CTWE Pro Wrestling on their Seasons Beatings PPV on December 15th. During the event, each twin accompanied a different wrestler to the ring.

Return To WWE

On March 11th, 2013, The Bella Twins would make their return to WWE on an episode of RAW. They appeared in a backstage segment with Team Rhodes Scholars. The following week they attacked The Funkadactyls, and then began interfering on behalf of Team Rhodes Scholars in their matches against Brodus Clay and Tensai.

The Bella Twins made their official in ring returns on the March 27th edition of Main Event, where they defeated The Funkadactyls in a tag match. They also defeated them on the following RAW.

At Wrestlemania 29, The Bella’s were scheduled to be involved in an 8-person tag match where they would team with Team Rhodes Scholars to take on Tons of Funk and The Funkadactyls. However, the match was cut from the show due to time constraints. The match would instead take place the following night on RAW and was won by Tons of Funk and The Funkadactyls.

In June, 2013, Nikki Bella suffered a fractured tibia which would keep her from competing.

Nikki Returns To Action

On the October 25th edition of Smackdown, Nikki Bella returned to action, in a losing effort to AJ Lee.

At the following months Survivor Series, Nikki Bella was a part of the successful Team Total Divas.

At Wrestlemania XXX, Nikki was involved in the Divas Invitational Match for the WWE Divas Championship, but once again she failed to take the championship away from AJ Lee.

The Bella’s Split; Nikki Sides With Stephanie McMahon

As a part of the ongoing storyline involving Brie’s husband, Daniel Bryan and The Authority, Stephanie McMahon threatened to fire Brie if Bryan didn’t relinquish the WWE Championship.

At Payback, Brie made the decision for her husband and quit the company, before slapping Stephanie.  As retribution, Stephanie decided to punish Nikki Bella and put her in several handicap matches.

After a month away from the company, Brie reappeared in the crowd and was confronted by McMahon, who slapped Brie. This led to Stephanie being arrested. The only way Brie would drop the charges was if she was re-hired and she got a match against Stephanie at SummerSlam. Stephanie acquiesced and the match was booked.

At SummerSlam Nikki turned her back on her sister and attacked Brie, allowing Stephanie to win the match. The following weeks saw the sisters arguing and fighting backstage with Nikki showing a new, aggressive character.

Stephanie would later proclaim Nikki to be the face of the Divas division and went on to grant her a shot at the Divas Championship at Night of Champions, which she lost. After losing the match, Nikki requested that she was allowed to place Brie in handicap matches, similar to what she had to face. Brie defeated both Eva Marie and Cameron and then Slayers, which annoyed Nikki. This led to a match between the Bella’s at Hell in a Cell.

Nikki defeated Brie and as per the stipulation of the match, Brie was forced to be Nikki’s assistant for 30-days. The following week Nikki became the number one contender for the Divas championship by winning a Halloween Costume Battle Royal.

2nd Divas Championship Reign; Team Bella

As a result of winning the Halloween Costume Battle Royal, Nikki would receive a Divas Championship match against AJ Lee at Survivor Series. Nikki won the match with the help of Brie and to win her second Divas championship.

The sisters seemingly reconciled their differences, although the previous split was never properly concluded nor mentioned to any great degree going forward.

At TLC, Nikki successfully retained her championship against AJ Lee and then once again retained the title at Fastlane by defeating Paige.

At Wrestlemania 31, The Bella Twins were defeated by AJ Lee and Paige.

At Extreme Rules, Nikki retained her Divas championship by defeating Naomi. As the Bella’s continued to feud with Naomi and her bodyguard Tamina, they began to act more heroic and slowly drift away from their heel personas. This was criticized because there was no real storyline reason for this to happen and even less of an explanation as to why they reconciled over the Stephanie McMahon incident.

At Elimination Chamber, Nikki defended her championship against Paige and Naomi in a triple threat match, which she won.

Over the coming weeks, The Bella’s would revert back to their heel personas by using Twin Magic to help Nikki retain her championship against Paige both at Raw and Money in the Bank.

During the feud with Paige, Alicia Fox aligned herself with the Bella Twins and they began referring to themselves as Team Bella.

On July 4th at Beast in the East, Nikki once again retained her championship by defeating Paige and Tamina.

The Divas Revolution

After weeks of Team Bella outnumbering their opposition, Stephanie McMahon called for a ‘Revolution’ within the Divas division. In doing this she brought up Charlotte and Becky Lynch from NXT to join forces with Paige, a group originally called the Submission Sorority. However, a few google searches of that team name will show you why it hasn’t stuck around very long, the team are now known as PCB. As well as Charlotte and Lynch, Stephanie also called up NXT Divas champion, Sasha Banks, who would side with Naomi and Tamina to form Team B.A.D.

At Battleground Brie Bella represented Team Bella in a triple threat match against Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Brie lost the match after tapping out to Charlotte’s Figure-Eight.

Team Bella, were once again defeated at a PPV by PCB at SummerSlam, although they made up for their loss the following night on RAW.

After winning a beat the clock challenge match, Charlotte earned a shot at Nikki’s Divas Championship. The match was scheduled to take place at Night of Champions, but Charlotte had it brought forward to RAW.

Longest Reigning Divas Champion

On the September 14th episode of RAW, Nikki became the longest reigning Divas champion in WWE history when she defended her Divas Championship against Charlotte. During the match, Nikki and Brie used Twin Magic, but it failed allowing Charlotte to pick up the three count. However, because Charlotte pinned Brie and not Nikki, Stephanie McMahon declared Charlotte the winner via disqualification, which meant that Nikki retained the title and surpassed AJ Lee’s previous record of 295 days.

Stephanie then announced that Charlotte would get her rematch at Night of Champions.

Losing The Divas Championship

At Night of Champions, Nikki lost the Divas championship to Charlotte via submission after Charlotte locked in the Figure-Eight, ending her title reign at 301 days.

On October 25th at Hell In A Cell, Nikki would get her rematch against Charlotte for the Divas championship, ultimately though, she would come up short once again. After this defeat Nikki took a more backseat role on WWE TV, with Charlotte and Paige feuding for the Divas title.

Nikki Bella; Diva of the Year

In December it was confirmed that Nikki Bella had suffered a neck injury which would keep her off WWE TV for a while. She did however, return on the December 21st edition of RAW in order to personally accept her Slammy Award for Diva of the Year.

On January 25th, it was announced that Nikki Bella would be undergoing potentially career threatening surgery on the 27th January, to repair damage to her herniated disc.
