NXT (2012-2014)

When WWE re-branded it’s developmental territory into NXT, Summer Rae became the ring-announcer for the promotion.

On January 30th, 2013, Rae made the transition into an in-ring performer when she attacked Paige. On February 13th, Summer Rae utilized Paige’s injured shoulder to defeat her and end her run of successful victories. On the May 1st episode of NXT, Paige defeated Summer Rae, despite Summer attacking her before the match.

On June 19th, Summer Rae competed in the tournament to crown the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion. She defeated Sasha Banks in the first round, but was defeated by Emma in the semi-finals. After the match, Summer attacked Emma, beginning a feud between the two. Emma went on to defeat Summer in a dance-off to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship, but Summer attacked her and injured her before challenging Paige to a title match, which Paige accepted. On August 14th, Paige defeated Summer Rae to retain the title.

Summer then turned her attention to Sasha Banks, whom she was trying to convince to turn heel. Eventually, Banks did so and attacked Paige on the September 11th episode of NXT. Summer then accompanied Banks during her match with Bayley on September 25th. Banks won the match and afterwards, Summer stated that she and Sasha would run the NXT Women’s division. The duo would then become known as The BFF’s. They defeated Paige and Emma on October 16th. During their rivalry with Paige and Emma, The BFF’s acquired a new member in the form of Charlotte. The trio then continued to feud with Bayley, Emma and Natalya.

Around this time Summer Rae was called up to the WWE main roster.

She returned to NXT after a four-month absence on June 6th, when she led an attack on Bayley, until Paige and Emma made the save. On June 26th, Summer was kicked out of The BBF’s when Sasha Banks and Charlotte refused to help her in a match against Becky Lynch. The following week, The BFF’s were disbanded completely.

The following week, Summer Rae defeated Bayley to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. On July 24th, Summer Rae faced Charlotte for the title but was defeated.

WWE Main Roster; Fandango’s Dance Partner (2013-2014)

Summer Rae made her official main roster debut on April 22nd, 2013, when she appeared on RAW as Fandango’s new valet and dance partner. Later in the night, Chris Jericho attacked Fandango and danced with Summer. On the May 13th episode of RAW, Summer and Fandango faced Chris Jericho and Dancing With The Stars competitor Edyta Sliwinska in a dance-off, however Summer feigned an injured ankle in order to distract Jericho and allow Fandango to attack him.

On October 25th, Summer got into a brawl with Natalya, which led to a mixed tag team match where Summer and Fandango would take on Natalya and The Great Khali. The match took place at Hell in a Cell, with Summer and Fandango picking up the win. The following night on RAW, Summer Rae was defeated by Natalya.

At Survivor Series, Summer Rae was a part of the unsuccessful True Divas team as they lost to Team Total Divas, Rae was also involved in the re-match the following night on RAW, when once again her team lost the match.

On April 8th, Fandango announced on Twitter, that he was ending his association with Summer. Fandango then aligned himself with Layla. The storyline was used in order to give Summer Rae time off WWE TV in order for her to film The Marine 4.

Upon her return on the May 19th episode of RAW, Summer confronted and then kissed Fandango, before attacking Layla. The following week, Summer was defeated by Eva Marie after Fandango and Layla interfered.

On the June 20th episode of Smackdown, Summer Rae once again kissed Fandango, this time however, the kiss was seen by Layla. Over the following weeks, Summer and Layla would attack each other both backstage and at ringside. This led to a match between the two at Money In The Bank, with Fandango as the special guest referee. Layla won the match.

Various Alliances (2014-Present)

On the June 30th episode of RAW, Summer kissed Dolph Ziggler during his match with Fandango. On the following episode of Smackdown, she attacked Layla during Fandango’s match with Adam Rose. This led to a re-match between Rae and Layla, once again with Fandango as the special guest referee. At the start of the match, both Layla and Summer kissed Fandango. Then, they both attacked Fandango, forming their own alliance, named The Slayers. Their first match as a team came in a losing effort to Paige and AJ Lee.

At Survivor Series, Summer Rae participated in a four-on-four elimination tag team match, which her team lost.

In January 2015, Layla was put out of action after needing surgery, as a result, The Slayers were quietly disbanded.

Upon the release of The Marine 4: Moving Target, The Miz began disrespecting Summer, which led to Summer aligning herself with Damien Sandow, although this proved to be a trick all along after Rae turned on Sandow and helped Miz beat him.

In June, Summer Rae began a storyline which saw her align herself with Rusev. Rusev had previously broken off his relationship with Lana, who had since joined up with Dolph Ziggler. On the June 9th episode of RAW, Summer slapped Lana, leading to a brawl between them. This would go on for the next few weeks, with Lana and Summer seemingly getting into an infinite number of catfights.

At SummerSlam, Rusev and Ziggler faced each other in a match that would via a double count-out following interference by both Lana and Summer.

In September, Summer attempted to end the relationship between Lana and Ziggler by trying to seduce Dolph. The storyline was cut short though after Lana suffered a legitimate wrist injury.

Summer Rae then proposed to Rusev, who had just been engaged to Lana in real life, which was the final nail in the coffin for the whole storyline. Summer would then cost Rusev a match with Ziggler, where she was the special referee. She slapped Rusev and then fast-counted the pinfall. After the match she attempted to re-align herself with Ziggler, who turned away her affections.

On the October 22nd episode of Smackdown, during a Miz TV segment, Summer Rae introduced Tyler Breeze as her new man, before he attacked Dolph. Their association didn’t last long however as on the final Smackdown episode of 2015, they announced that they had amicably decided to go their separate ways.

On the 15th February episode of RAW, Summer Rae defeated Paige, after Summer rolled her up for a surprise three count.

On the March 22 episode of Main Event, Summer, alongside Emma attacked Alicia Fox and Natalya during a match between Paige and Naomi. This aligned Emma and Summer with Naomi, Tamina and Lana, with the group calling themselves Team B.A.D. & Blonde.

The following week on RAW, Emma defeated Paige in her return match. After the match Team B.A.D. and Blonde once again attacked, this time however, Eva Marie evened up the sides, causing a 10-Diva Tag Team match to be set for Wrestlemania 32.

At Wrestlemania 32, the Total Divas defeated Team B.A.D. & Blonde, after Naomi tapped-out to Brie Bella’s Yes-Lock.
