In June of 2014, Simon Gotch and Aiden English joined forces to form a tag team. They made their debut on the June 19th episode of NXT, under the name, The Vaudevillians, and defeated Travis Tyler and Angelo Dawkins.

Soon after their debut, The Vaudevillians competed in a tag team tournament to crown new number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championships. They made it to the finals of the tournament but fell short to The Lucha Dragons.

They would then go on to win a tag team battle royal to earn a shot at the champions, who at this stage were the Lucha Dragons. The Vaudevillians received their title shot against the Lucha Dragons at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, however, they failed to win the championships.

After this defeat the team began to fade away from NXT television, until June 3rd, when they returned to defeat Jason Jordan and Marcus Louis. They followed this victory up with a win over Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore to become the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

On the 29th July episode of NXT, the Vaudevillians received their title shot, but once again they failed to capture the titles.

NXT Tag Team Champions; Blue Pants

The Vaudevillians then acquired the services of Blue Pants, who would begin to accompany the team to the ring.

At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, the Vaudevillians, with Blue Pants in their corner, defeated Blake and Murphy to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.

The Vaudevillains were then eliminated in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, by The Revival, which set up an NXT Tag Team Championship match between the two teams.

The match took place on November 11, with The Revival winning the match, and ending The Vaudevillains’ title reign at 61 days.

They would then fail to re-gain the championships, before embarking on a losing streak, which eventually saw them turn heel, following a defeat against American Alpha.

The Vaudevillains made their final appearance in NXT, in a losing effort to Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, on April 13.

WWE Main Roster (2016-Present)

On April 7, 2016, The Vaudevillains made their WWE main roster debut, defeating The Lucha Dragons.

It was then announced that The Vaudevillains would compete in a Number One Contenders tournament for the WWE Tag Team Championships. They went on to defeat Goldust and Fandango in the first round, and The Usos in the semi-finals, setting up a match at Payback against Enzo & Cass.

The match at Payback ended in a no-contest, after Enzo Amore suffered a legitimate concussion during the match. This led to The Vaudevillains being declared the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

They received their title shot at Extreme Rules, when they were defeated by The New Day.

Following this defeat, The Vaudevillains re-ignited their feud with Enzo & Cass, with both teams being announced as competitors in a fatal-four-way tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championships at Money In The Bank. The other two teams were The Club and The New Day. The match was won by The New Day.

On July 19, as a part of the 2016 WWE Draft, The Vaudevillains were drafted to Smackdown Live.

They then competed in the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship Tournament, losing out to The Hype Bros in the first round, which took place on the SummerSlam kick-off show.
