A recent report by Forbes has indicated that WWE still has interest in Ronda Rousey despite their recent approach to Paige Vanzant, whose management have confirmed that WWE have made contact regarding an appearance at SummerSlam.
After SummerSlam however, it appears that WWE still want Rousey for the biggest event of their calendar, Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando, Florida.
The Forbes article suggests that WWE are hoping to use the recent deal with UFC, that will see Brock Lesnar return to the octagon at UFC 200, as leverage to land Rousey for an appearance, and even a potential match at Wrestlemania 33.
We know that Rousey would be interested in working with WWE again, after she spoke of her enjoyment at Wrestlemania 31 and vowed to do all she could to get back there, even saying that one day she would like to hold the now redundant WWE Divas Championship.
There has been no official word yet on what Rousey’s role would potentially be, but it is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility to envision her in an actual match at the show.
Sherdog have reached out to UFC to confirm WWE’s interest in Rousey, but as of writing, they have not responded.
